.ORG Registry Downtime

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The .org registry will be transitioning to the EPP protocol (Extensible Provisioning Protocol.) Please note the following downtime scheduled for .org names from October 3rd through Oct 8th 2003 as a result of this transition:

• All transfer orders from other registrars to us will be held in a "pending" status and will not be processed until the transition period is over. Transfers away from our registry will also be pending.
• You will not be able to make any name server changes or contact information changes.
• All whois records regarding your domain will remain unchanged.
• Registrations and renewals will remain active. However, such orders will be queued for five minute intervals and this may cause problems. If you encounter any problems with a .org renewal, don't try to do it again unless you know for sure that the renewal failed. Contact support to check the status of your order. If possible, we strongly advise you to postpone registering or renewing .org names until after the transition period is over.
